Jeffrey S. Truhan, NHA, MSW
Jeffrey S. Truhan is the CEO & Administrator of the Shook Home. Truhan is a native of Lewistown, PA, and relocated to Chambersburg in 2007. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Juniata College and a Master’s Degree from Temple University. Truhan is dually licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator and a Personal Care Home Administrator. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Chambersburg Kiwanis Club, the Chambersburg Exchange Club, and the Borough of Chambersburg’s Parking, Traffic, and Streetlight Committee. Truhan currently serves on the Board of Directors at Keystone Health and the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he is a Field Instructor for the Department of Social Work and Gerontology at Shippensburg University.
Director of Nursing
Stephanie Hammel is a native of Central Pennsylvania. She and her husband have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University in Altoona. She began working as the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Shook Home in October of 2016. Stephanie brings a wealth of clinical experience to the Shook Home team including post-op vascular and transplant step down care, long-term care, hospice care, substance abuse, and orthopedics, as well as experience working with long-term care insurance companies.

Director of Social Services and Marketing
Julianne Tuttle is a native of Parkesburg, PA, and relocated to Franklin County to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree at Shippensburg University. Julianne worked as a direct care provider in long-term care for the past three years and has completed multiple Field Practicums, the most recent of which was at The Shook Home. She currently resides in Shippensburg.
Chief Financial Officer
Barbara Law is the Chief Financial Officer of the Shook Home. Barbara is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Prior to joining The Shook Home in 1999, Barbara obtained eight years of accounting and audit experience, with the majority of those years focused in the insurance and health care industry. She has served on local nonprofit boards and acts as Treasurer of several volunteer organizations.
Director of Maintenance
Julius Kissel was born and raised in Edenville, PA. He attended the Chambersburg Area School District. Julius has been employed at the Shook Home for the past 20 years as Director of Plant Operations, overseeing the maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping departments. Prior to his employment at the Shook Home, Julius worked for 12 years at Brechbill and Helman, where he headed up the construction of the Quarters at the Shook. He has one son and 2 grandsons. Julius currently resides in Shippensburg with his wife.
Jeff Rock was born and raised in Chambersburg and has lived in Path Valley for the past 28 years. He graduated from The Chambersburg Area Senior High School and attended Shippensburg University and Wilson College. Jeff received his certification through The National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (N.C.C.A.P.). He founded and operated The Unity Club of Franklin County, Inc., a recreational club for the mentally and physically disabled. Jeff has 30 years of experience working in the recreation/volunteer field. He also serves on the Gerontology Advisory Board at Shippensburg University.
Director of Human Resources and Corporate Compliance
Sandra Walsh is the Director of Human Resources/ Corporate Compliance Officer of the Shook Home. She is also the HIPAA Representative of the facility. Walsh is a native and current resident of Chambersburg, PA with one daughter. She graduated from High School from Chambersburg Area School District and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Shippensburg University. She formally served on the Workforce Development Recruitment/Retention Subcommittee for The Greater Chamber of Commerce (Chairperson).
Personal Care Home Administrator
Lehoma Theimer, PCHA, LPN
Lehoma Theimer is the Personal Care Home Administrator of the Quarters at the Shook. She is a native of Newville, PA, but currently resides in Shippensburg, PA. Theimer is married with four children. She graduated High School from the Big Spring School District. Theimer began her nursing career in 1996 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In 2005, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Theimer earned her Personal Care Home Administrator License in October of 2014. She is also a member Healthy Franklin County Access to Healthcare Coalition.
Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator
Margaret Lake began her nursing career in 1976 as an LPN after attending the Franklin County Vo-Tech Practical Nursing Program. She received an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Penn State University in 1993. She has worked as a Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator since 2000 and joined the Shook Home in 2008. Margaret is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.
Tammy Shaffer was born and raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Chambersburg Area School District, during which time she attended the Franklin County Career and Technical Center for Business Data Processing. Tammy completed her Dietary Manager Course at the University of North Dakota. She started working for The Shook Home as a dietary aide 26 years ago, and has held a variety dietary positions throughout that time. Tammy is a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional, and is ServSafe Certified.
Christy Lautenslager is the Shook Home's Director of Rehab Services. She was born and raised in Chambersburg, PA. She graduated from CASD with membership in the National Vocational-Technical Honors Society and was represented in the 1989-1999 edition of Who's Who Among American High School Students. Christy graduated from Penn State in 2002 with a major in Occupational Therapy. She received her BS in Major Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State in 2005. Christy was also a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda - Zeta Pi Chapter, a national honor society for adult learners in continuing higher education. She is married with 2 children.
